Phonics & Beginning Sounds flashcards.
Twenty-six cards, one for every letter: big Aa beside the apple, Bb beside the ball, all the way to Zz beside the zebra. Every card carries its picture word, its sound script for grown-ups and one tiny activity — the whole alphabet’s worth of first sounds, ready to print.
These cards belong to Class 28 · Phonics & Beginning Sounds on the Kiddo School learning path.
Every card in the set.
Each card has its own page: the picture and short, practical notes for grown-ups — what it is for, how to use it, how to print it. Tap any card to open it.

You do not need a plan or a printer schedule. Pick one idea, try it for two minutes and see what happens.
- 01
Play the sound hunt
Pick one card, then hunt the house for three things that start with its sound. The apple card finds an apron, an avocado, an animal toy — three finds and the sound is owned.
- 02
Say the sounds, not the names
Line the cards up and sing the alphabet in sounds instead of letter names: a-a-apple, b-b-ball. It is the same song the reading books speak.
- 03
Play the mismatch game
Hold up the moon card and say "m — m — marble!" — a deliberate mistake. Children correct grown-ups with enormous joy, and correcting is the drill.
- 04
Trace the big letters
Finger-trace the big Aa while saying its sound out loud. Eyes, mouth and fingertip all hold the same letter at once — that is how sounds stick.
