Climbing Frame Flashcard for Preschoolers
A climbing frame — a jungle gym of bars and rails built for going up, over and across. The card says CLIMB, and that is the whole invitation: hands and feet, off you go.

What is this?
A climbing frame is a frame of bars and poles you can climb on, hang from and cross over. This one is a dome of red, yellow and blue — half ladder, half maze.
What is it like on the playground?
You choose a route: over the top, through the middle or across the bars like a monkey. The frame does not mind which way — it is the same mountain either way.
Why it helps a preschooler
Climbing frames are decision machines: which bar, which hand, how high today. Every crossing is planned, tried and finished by the climber — ownership you can see in the walk to the next challenge.
Say it together
“Grab the bars, find your feet — the climbing frame is a mountain that waits for small climbers and claps when they cross.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Play “the floor is water” under the frame — feet stay on the bars. Then cross it three ways and pick a favourite route to show a friend.
Quick parent note
Busy frame, simple rule: one direction at a time. Keep your eyes on the climber, not the phone — tops of frames deserve a witness.
