Tunnel Flashcard for Preschoolers
A tunnel — a crawl-through tube with a mystery in the middle. Dark for two seconds, light again, and everyone shouts. The playground’s smallest adventure, included in every visit.

What is this?
A tunnel is a tube big enough to crawl through. This one is blue and yellow with a bend in the middle — just enough dark to make the exit feel earned.
What is it like on the playground?
In the low entrance, onto hands and knees, and crawl — palms and knees taking turns, head up just enough to see the light ahead. Shout from the middle; the tube makes it hilarious.
Why it helps a preschooler
Tunnels pack three brave things into one crawl: a small dark, a small crowd (patience if someone is ahead) and a known exit. Sensory, social and physical — in one blue tube.
Say it together
“Hands and knees, off we go — through the tunnel! It is dark in the middle and that is the fun part: round the bend, out the end.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Peek-a-boo with the tunnel: one crawls, one waits at the end and pops in — “THERE you are!” Then swap. It never stops being funny.
Quick parent note
Tunnel traffic rule, same as the slide: if someone is still inside, wait for the exit wiggle. One body per tube-section keeps knees unbumped.
