Cat Flashcard — Letter C for Preschoolers
Cc beside a smiling orange tabby — cat is the classic first c-word for good reason: the /c/ here is a clean, short /k/ that children can hear and say from toddler age.

How this card helps
Cc next to the cat ties the letter shape to the /k/ click — a sound made at the very back of the mouth, so the card teaches listening as much as looking.
How to use this card
Play the clicking cat: every time the grown-up says a c-word, the child answers with one cat meow. Five c-words, five meows, lots of giggles.
What kids learn from it
That the same shape Cc can carry the /k/ sound at the start of cat, cup and car — one sound, many words, one card to hold them.
Print it like this
Print landscape on A4 or Letter at 100% — the Cc card keeps its full 2000×1414 frame and its colours survive a home printer well.
How to teach with this card
If your child confuses c and k later, that is normal — they make the identical sound. Tell them they are twins with two coats.
Letter sound
C makes the /k/ sound in cat — a clean click at the back of the mouth, like a tiny door shutting: cat, cup, car, cake.
