Spring Rider Flashcard for Preschoolers
A spring rider — a horse (or motorbike, or rocket) on a giant spring, ready to wobble. No pedalling, no pushing: the rider IS the engine, and the spring bounces the engine back.

What is this?
A spring rider is a ride-on shape mounted on a coiled spring. It tilts every way at once, and the spring always wins — every lean comes bouncing back to centre.
What is it like on the playground?
Climb on from the side, grip the handles, feet on the pegs and bounce with the tummy, not just the legs. The spring counts the beats — rock along with it.
Why it helps a preschooler
Spring riders are balance training disguised as horseback riding. The moving seat keeps the body guessing and correcting — the same wobbling-and-recovering practice as the balance beam, with a horse for company.
Say it together
“Hop on, hold the handles, bounce bounce bounce — the yellow horse rocks because YOU rock. Rock harder, ride wilder!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Rock to a song — fast for the fast part, slow for the slow part. The spring keeps perfect time, and the song keeps the bouncing from going full storm.
Quick parent note
Dismount is the risky bit — the spring still moves after feet land. Teach: hands off, hop back, watch the tail.
