Athletics Flashcard for Preschoolers
Fast legs, long jumps, mighty throws — athletics is track and field: the three things every human body learns first, done as sport.

Say it together
“Athletics is running, jumping and throwing — the Olympic games! Run to the line, jump as far as you can, throw it far, far away!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Chalk three stations on the pavement: a sprint line ("run fast!"), a long-jump line ("bend knees, jump!"), and a bean-bag throw ("big arm, throw!"). One minute each, big cheer, next station. That is a real athletics meet, kid-size.
Quick parent note
Run, jump, throw — New Zealand schools literally teach these three words as the heart of fundamental movement skills, and every athletics event is one of them done bigger.
