Badminton Flashcard for Preschoolers

Thinnest rackets, lightest tap — badminton sends a feathered shuttlecock floating over the net, slow as a soap bubble.

A sports flashcard titled Badminton: the word "badminton" over a badminton scene with rackets and a shuttlecock.

Say it together

“Badminton uses a shuttlecock — a little feather rocket! We tap it softly and it floats over the net like a parachute.”

Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.

Try this

Toss a shuttlecock (or a lightweight sponge ball) and let your child tap it back up with the flat hand first, then a junior racket. Watch how it wobbles and floats — that drift is what makes badminton feel like catching a falling leaf.

Quick parent note

The shuttlecock’s slow float is a gift for young eyes: it stays catchable far longer than a ball, so tracking it trains the same eye skill every ball sport needs.
