Baker Worksheet for Ages 4–5
A community-helpers worksheet for ages 4–5: trace the word BAKER, match the baker to the bread, mixing bowl and oven mitt, circle the bakes, count the cupcakes and draw a treat you would like to bake — on screen or on paper.
The full sheet, exactly as the artist drew it.
See the whole sheet, download the original file or print it from your browser. Want your child to solve it on screen first? The interactive version lives at preschool/4-years/community-helpers-and-our-neighborhood/worksheets/baker/ / — same sheet, drawing layer included.

The five steps on the sheet.
- 1
Trace
Trace the dotted word BAKER across the row — five letters, warm as fresh bread.
- 2
Match
Draw a line from the baker to the bread, the mixing bowl and the oven mitt.
- 3
Circle
Six foods sit in the grid — circle every one a baker can bake in the oven. Five come out golden; one grows on a tree!
- 4
Count
Count the cupcakes, then write the number in the box.
- 5
Draw
Draw a treat you would like to bake in the big box — cookies, a cake, or something nobody has invented yet.
Before you start, have the words ready: A baker mixes, kneads and bakes: the mixing bowl holds the dough, the oven mitt protects hands from the hot oven, and bread, cookies, cakes and croissants all rise in the heat. Apples grow on trees — nobody bakes those!
What this worksheet teaches.
What a baker makes before the town wakes up, which tools bake bread and cakes, and which foods come from an oven — plus how to write the word BAKER.
Bakers turn simple flour into celebration food, and children know it in their bones. The baked-versus-grown sorting builds category thinking, and the treat-draw box opens the lovely family talk about which treats are worth baking together.

Tips, questions and practice.
Say before you start: "This is a baker — she makes bread and treats while the town is still asleep. Trace her name, then connect the bread, the mixing bowl and the oven mitt. Now the six foods: which ones does the oven make? Count the cupcakes slowly, and then draw the treat YOU would bake."
Questions to ask: "What does the baker pull out of the oven?" "Which foods in the grid did somebody bake?" "Why does the baker wear the big mitt?" "What would you bake first — and who would you share it with?"
Parent tips: Baking together is measuring, counting and patience in one delicious lesson — one batch of anything this week is enough. Let your child own the mixing and the pouring; the flour mess is the tuition.
Home practice: Bake one simple treat together this week — even a ready-mix counts. Let your child wear the mitt for real (empty-handed first!) and pull the tray out with you. The worksheet, but edible.
