Map Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 3+Classroom object
The map with green continents hanging on the wall — a map is the world drawn flat, and reading one starts with simply pointing.

Say it together
“Map! The world on paper. The blue is water. The green is land. Point to the water… point to the land… point to where we live! A map knows where everything is.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Hang any map at child height and play "point and name": one finger, one place, one word each. Draw a small star where grandma lives, another where you live. Two stars make the map personal — and then it gets looked at every day.
Quick parent note
Maps answer "where?" long before children can read them properly. A star on a map is a child’s first geography: places are real, they have names, and some of them hold people we love.
