Listen Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 3+Good habit
A boy with his hand to his ear — listening is the first classroom habit, and it looks like still hands, quiet mouth and ears doing the work.

Say it together
“Listen! Hand to your ear. What do you hear? The story… the birds… a quiet room. Ears open, mouth quiet, eyes on the book. Now I know you are listening!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Play the listening game: whisper an instruction across the room — "touch your nose… hop twice… bring the red block." Whispering makes ears work. Then swap: your child whispers, you do the silly move.
Quick parent note
Real listening practice is short and fun, not a long lecture about listening. A child who has played at listening knows exactly what the word means when it matters.
