Follow Directions Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 3+Good habit
A teacher pointing the way — following directions means hearing the whole instruction and doing it in order: first this, then that, finished means finished.

Say it together
“Follow directions! Ears ready? "First hang your coat, THEN come to the rug." Coat… rug… all done! Two steps, both done — that is following directions!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Give two-step missions at home: "put the cup on the table, then sit down." Count the steps on fingers before starting. Two steps done in order earns a high five — then tomorrow, sneak in a third.
Quick parent note
Little brains hold one instruction first, two soon after. Asking your child to repeat the steps back — "what comes first?" — turns listening into a plan, which is the whole trick.
