Mouth Check Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 3+The check-up
The mouth check is the doctor looking at the teeth and tongue — your child opens wide, says "aah," and the visit continues.

Say it together
“Mouth check! Open wide and say AHHH. The doctor sees your teeth and your tongue — what a big open mouth!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Practice the "aah" in the mirror — the bigger the better, with a silly face at the end. Then check every stuffed animal’s mouth in the house.
Quick parent note
"Say ah" turns an inspection into a game every toddler already knows from tooth-brushing. Same mouth, same sound, different helper — easy transfer.
