Ages 3+The check-up

The ear check is the doctor looking inside the ear with a tiny flashlight — one second per ear, warm and gentle.

A Doctor Visit flashcard titled Ear Check: the words "The doctor looks inside your ear" over a doctor holding a small light to a child’s ear while the child hugs a teddy bear.

Say it together

“Ear check! The doctor looks inside your ear — a teeny light! Hold still like a statue… one… two… all done!”

Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.

Try this

Play "what is in your ear?" with a flashlight at home — look in teddy’s ears, then your child’s (gently, never deep). Statues get prizes.

Quick parent note

A one-second light in the ear is nothing — unless you do not know it is coming. "A tiny light, one-two, done" is the whole script to rehearse.
