Reception Desk Flashcard for Preschoolers

Ages 3+Getting ready

The reception desk is the front desk of the clinic — the friendly person behind it says hello and tells the doctor you have arrived.

A Doctor Visit flashcard titled Reception Desk: the words "We tell the receptionist our name" over a child and parent at a clinic front desk with a computer.

Say it together

“Reception desk! We tell the receptionist our name. "Hello, we are here!" She already knows — the doctor is expecting us.”

Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.

Try this

Play reception at home: a toy phone, a notebook, and your child behind the "desk" saying "hello, who is here today?" — with every stuffed animal checking in by name.

Quick parent note

The first two minutes of a visit are mostly waiting and saying hello. When children know the desk comes first, the whole arrival feels familiar.
