Waiting Room Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 3+Getting ready
The waiting room is where families sit for a few minutes until it is their turn — a calm pause with chairs, maybe books, and teddy on a lap.

Say it together
“Waiting room! We wait for our turn. Teddy waits too. Soon a helper will call our name — and then the visit begins!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Keep a tiny "waiting bag": one small book or quiet toy that only comes out at the clinic. Waiting with a job is easy; waiting with nothing is long.
Quick parent note
Waiting is the hardest skill on this page. Two minutes of practice at home — a "waiting game" with a surprise at the end — pays off at the real clinic.
