Judo Flashcard for Preschoolers
White suits on soft mats and the gentlest name in sport — judo means "the gentle way": grip, balance, and let your partner down softly.

Say it together
“Judo is the GENTLE way — we grip the jacket, keep our balance, and if we fall, we fall soft like a starfish. The mat is our friend!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Break-fall practice on a bed or mat: sit, roll back, arms slap out wide — slap! Then the jacket grip: hold a partner’s sleeve and elbow, step around, both keep balance. Falling soft and gripping gentle are judo’s two first skills.
Quick parent note
Every martial art starts with respect — the bow, the partner, the mat — and judo adds the world’s most useful safety skill: knowing how to fall without hurt, learned at four, kept for life.
