Toy Drum Flashcard for Toddlers
Ages 1+Play time
The red drum with the yellow rims and two sticks — the toy drum is the loudest friend in the room and the toddler’s first instrument: every bang is a beat, and beats are music.

Say it together
“Toy drum! Bang bang BANG! Loud! Now softly, softly… quiet taps. Fast beats… slow beats… and… STOP. Hands up!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Copy-cat drumming: you play loud, the toddler plays loud; you tap soft, they tap soft; you speed up, they speed up. The loud-soft-fast-slow game is the whole first music curriculum. Then the drum sleeps in a cupboard corner — the stop rule is part of the game, said with a smile.
Quick parent note
Drumming teaches listening as much as banging: copying a rhythm is attention training with sticks. The loud-soft contrast also seeds the "inside voice" idea — the drum’s quiet mode is where inside voices are born.
