Jet, Seaplane, Glider & Blimp Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 4–5Air
Four more ways to fly: the jet that outruns sound, the seaplane that lands on lakes, the glider that flies with no engine at all and the round blimp that floats like the world’s slowest balloon.

Say it together
“Jet! Seaplane! Glider! Blimp! The jet goes faster than sound — WHOOSH! The seaplane lands on the water — splash, gently. The glider rides the wind with no engine — shhh, quiet flying. And the blimp drifts along, slow and round, like a giant fish in the sky!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Glide test: throw a paper "glider" with the engine off — how far can silence travel? Then the landing question: where does a seaplane park? (On the lake — no runway needed!) And the blimp riddle: why is it so slow? (It floats; it is in no hurry. Some flying is just floating.)
Quick parent note
This card stretches "airplane" into a family: power (jet), water-landing (seaplane), engineless (glider) and floating (blimp). The glider is the physics star — it proves wings work on wind alone — and the blimp is proof that flying does not always mean fast.
