Generator, Light Tower, Compressor & Welding Truck Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 4–5Construction
The power crew: the generator trailer hums out electricity for the whole site, the light tower trailer lifts its lamps to turn night into day, the compressor trailer breathes out air for the tools and the welding truck brings the sparks and the steel together.

Say it together
“Generator! Light tower! Compressor! Welding truck! The generator makes the electricity — hummm. The light tower lifts its lamps — the site glows at night! The compressor squeezes air for the tools — psshhh. And the welding truck joins the steel with sparks — bzzzz, fireworks at work!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Night-shift pretend: a torch on a chair is the light tower — the whole site glows. Then the sound hunt: the generator HUMS, the compressor PSHHH-es, the welder buzzes — the site has a soundtrack. And the big idea: before the builders build, someone brings the power.
Quick parent note
The quiet heroes of the construction set: none of them build anything, and none of the others could build without them. Power, light, air and sparks arrive on four trailers — which is a lovely first lesson in how work really gets done: the support crew comes first.
