Bulldozer, Excavator, Crane & Forklift Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 4–5Land
The heavy hitters of every building site: the bulldozer pushes, the excavator digs its big arm, the crane lifts steel beams sky-high and the forklift stacks pallets like building blocks.

Say it together
“Bulldozer! Excavator! Crane! Forklift! The bulldozer pushes the dirt — vroom, push! The excavator digs a big hole. The crane lifts things UP HIGH, and the forklift beeps and carries pallets. Dig, lift, build!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Act out the site: push cushions with a "bulldozer" push, dig with a spoon "excavator," lift teddy high with a rope-and-chair "crane" (grown-up power). Then watch a real site from a safe distance and name what each machine is doing — push, dig, lift, carry. Every site is the same four verbs.
Quick parent note
These four are the construction crew’s heart — and they reappear on the eleven construction spotter cards in fine detail. The forklift is the secret favorite: it is a machine that plays Tetris for a living, and it beeps in reverse like a giant video game.
