Fencing Flashcard for Preschoolers
White suits, wire masks and thin swords that bend — fencing is chess at the speed of lightning: poke before you are poked.

Say it together
“Fencing is a sword game with masks on — en garde! Advance, retreat… LUNGE! The tip of your sword touches the jacket and scores a point.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Foam-sword duel with pool noodles: masks optional, manners mandatory — en garde stance (side-on, knees bent, sword up), three advances forward, three retreats back, then one big lunge at a cushion target. Footwork first, poking never at people.
Quick parent note
Fencing footwork is the hidden treasure: side-on stance, quick small steps, balance held while moving fast — the same footwork fencers, boxers and tennis players all borrow.
Teach it, step by step
