Crib Flashcard for Toddlers
Ages 1+Sleepy time
The bed with the bars and the yellow blanket — the crib is where sleep lives, and a toddler who can name it knows exactly what the word "crib" promises: rest is coming.

Say it together
“Crib! Into the crib we go. This is your bed — cozy crib, soft blanket. Night-night, sleep tight.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Use the word as the last word of the bedtime routine — the same sentence at the crib rail every night: "into the crib, night-night." Then let the toddler tuck a teddy into a doll crib or a shoebox bed first: putting the teddy to bed is the dress rehearsal for going to bed willingly.
Quick parent note
The crib card works because it is honest: the crib IS where the toddler sleeps, and the word said at the rail nightly becomes a cue the body answers. Toddlers who know the script fight the script less.
