Easel Flashcard for Toddlers
Ages 2–3Play time
The painting stand with the paper clipped on — the easel is where toddlers make art standing up, and standing-up scribbles build the big arm muscles small hands will need.

Say it together
“Easel! Stand up tall and draw — up high, down low. Clip the paper, hold the crayon… big circles on the easel!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Clip paper to any surface at standing height — the real easel, the fridge, a wall-sized box — and make big arm circles, up-down lines and loops. Standing art is different from table art: the whole shoulder works. One rule keeps it joyful: the marks live on the paper.
Quick parent note
Vertical scribbling is genuine pre-writing practice — the shoulder and wrist positions it builds are the ones pencil control borrows. The easel also gives high-energy toddlers a reason to be on their feet while they focus.
