Socks Flashcard for Toddlers
Ages 1+Getting dressed
A pair of blue socks — socks are the baby step of getting dressed: stretchy, forgiving and the first garment many toddlers ever put on themselves, even if it takes a minute.

Say it together
“Socks! One sock… two socks. Over the toes… pull, pull, UP! Where is the other sock? THERE it is. Cozy toes!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Start the sock over the toes and let the toddler do the pulling-up — the heel-hitch can come later. Play sock hunt with the pair: one on, one missing, "where IS it?" — finding the twin is half the fun and teaches matching without a worksheet in sight.
Quick parent note
Pulling a sock over toes is real finger strength and real patience, celebrated early. Socks also teach the pair concept — two the same, one for each foot — which quietly seeds matching and counting long before either is taught.
