Road Roller, Mixer, Dump Truck & Paver Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 4–5Construction
The road crew: the road roller flattens everything flat, the concrete mixer tumbles its drum, the dump truck dumps its load and the asphalt paver lays the smooth black road behind it like a carpet.

Say it together
“Road roller! Mixer! Dump truck! Paver! The roller goes sllloooow and FLAT, the mixer spins round and round, the dump truck tips its load — crash — and the paver lays the road, smooth like icing on a cake!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Road-building pretend: a paint roller is the road roller (slow… flat…), a jar spins the "mixing" drum, a toy truck tips the "gravel," and a rectangle block becomes the paver laying the road. Four toys, one finished road. Then spot the real crew flattening a street near you.
Quick parent note
This card answers a question every child has asked while watching a street get fixed: who does WHAT? The roller’s drum is also the set’s most satisfying shape — a giant rolling pin that makes roads instead of cookies.
