Yacht, Catamaran, Cruise Ship & Lifeboat Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 4–5Water
The ocean fleet: the yacht sails for the joy of sailing, the catamaran stands on two hulls, the cruise ship is a floating town with a thousand rooms and the lifeboat exists for one brave job — rescuing people.

Say it together
“Yacht! Catamaran! Cruise ship! Lifeboat! The yacht glides on the wind, the catamaran has TWO hulls — one, two! — the cruise ship is a whole town that floats, and the lifeboat rushes out to help ships in trouble. What a fleet!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Count the hulls: one on the yacht, TWO on the catamaran — build a "catamaran" from two cups taped together and float it: steadier or wobblier? Then the hero story: the lifeboat crews who launch in storms to save others. Boats have jobs, and the bravest job on the water wears orange.
Quick parent note
The catamaran’s two-hull trick (stability!) is real engineering a child can test with cups. The lifeboat connects straight to the helpers theme — and the cruise ship answer to "how many people fit on a boat?" always lands like a magic trick.
