Funnel Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 6+Grown-up tools
The little gray cone with the stem — the funnel guides a pour into a small opening without a drop lost: water, oil, juice, all delivered neatly into bottles that would otherwise splash everywhere.

Say it together
“Funnel! The little cone helper. Stand it in the bottle mouth… pour — the liquid runs down the funnel, right into the bottle! No spills, no puddles. The funnel makes every pour neat.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Name it and try it with supervision: funnel in an empty bottle, and your child pours water from a jug — watch it glide through, zero mess. Then the reverse question: what happens with NO funnel? (A puddle. A glorious puddle, outside, where puddles are allowed.) Cause and effect, demonstrated pour-ably.
Quick parent note
The funnel is engineering in one word: change a wide pour into a narrow stream. It belongs on the Ages 6+ shelf because the concept — guiding flow — is the point more than the tool. Kids who can explain WHY the funnel works have discovered fluid dynamics at the kitchen sink.
