Canoeing Flashcard for Preschoolers
An open boat, a single paddle and calm water — canoeing is the quiet sport: dip the paddle, pull, and the lake carries you along.

Say it together
“Canoeing is paddling a boat with one paddle — dip it on the left, then the right, and the canoe goes straight ahead!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Sit cross-legged on the floor holding a mop or a rolled poster as a paddle, and "paddle" a rug-boat: big reach, long pull, left side, right side. Then ask: what happens if you only paddle ONE side? (You spin in a circle!)
Quick parent note
The left-right paddling rule is a real physics lesson in disguise — one-side-only paddling is how you steer. Calm water, life jacket, grown-up: the card’s three quiet rules.
