Skating Flashcard for Preschoolers
Shiny blades, smooth ice and the wobbliest eight metres in sport — skating is learning to glide: push, and the ice carries you.

Say it together
“Skating is gliding on the ice — little steps first, then stand still and LET the ice carry you. Wobbly knees are doing it right!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Slipper-skate at home: socks on a smooth floor, take skating steps, then freeze and glide as far as the momentum goes. Practise the soft fall too — knees down, hands on knees, giggle. Every skater falls; good skaters fall soft.
Quick parent note
The glide is the magic moment — the first time the ice (or the hallway floor) carries the child without stepping. Helmets for real ice, socks for the hallway, patience for both.
