Cricket Flashcard for Preschoolers
Flat bat, three wooden stumps and a big field — cricket is the game of the long afternoon: bowl it, hit it, run, and the other team fetches.

Say it together
“Cricket is hitting the ball with a flat bat — whack! — while the wickets stand behind you. Then we run! The other team fetches the ball.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Stand three paper-towel tubes as wickets, bowl a soft ball with a big gentle underarm roll, and swing the flat bat straight through the line. Whoever hits it gets to run; whoever fields it brings it back. Backyard cricket needs nothing else.
Quick parent note
Underarm bowling first — it arrives slowly enough to swing at, and the straight full swing it teaches is the stroke every cricketer keeps forever.
