Teddy Bear Flashcard for Toddlers
Ages 1+Play time
The brown bear with the round tummy — the teddy bear is the classic first friend, the one that gets dragged by one arm through every meal, nap and adventure the toddler attempts.

Say it together
“Teddy bear! A soft brown bear. Hug your teddy — squeeze! Feed the teddy, walk the teddy… and at night, teddy sleeps in the crib too. Night-night, teddy.”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Let the teddy join everything: he "eats" a spoonful, he gets his teeth brushed (own toothbrush, no paste), he sits on the potty, he goes to bed first. The toddler who parents a teddy is rehearsing every routine in this set — and rehearsed routines run smoother when it is the toddler’s turn.
Quick parent note
A teddy is both a comfort object and a rehearsal stage: whatever the child does with the bear is what the child is learning to do themselves. Big feelings also talk to bears more easily than to grown-ups, which makes the teddy the cheapest therapist in the room.
