Crossing Guard Flashcard for Preschoolers
Ages 3+People who keep us safe
A crossing guard is the helper at the road crossing who holds up the STOP sign and gets children across safely — before and after school.

Say it together
“Crossing guard! STOP — the sign goes up! Cars wait, feet cross, safe on the other side. Wave thank you — every single day!”
Say it naturally, then wait. Whatever comes back — the word, the sound, a point, a giggle — is the right answer.
Try this
Red light, green light, crossing-guard edition: your child holds a paper STOP sign and decides when the teddy bears may cross the "road" (a rug works). Holding the sign makes the rule make sense.
Quick parent note
The crossing guard is a road-safety teacher in a vest. Practice the real ritual: stop at the curb, wait for the sign, look left-right-left, cross, say thank you. The thank-you is part of the safety.
